Collin County Republican Executive Committee demands immediate action by Governor Abbott to secure the southern border of Texas with the nation of Mexico

On September 13th, 2021, The Collin County Republican Executive Committee voted unanimously for a resolution calling on Governor Abbott to take strong action and mobilize all available resources to secure the Texas/Mexico border.

The text of the resolution reads as follows:

Whereas, the Federal Government of the United States of America, under the administration of President Joseph Biden and his appointed “Border Czar”, Vice President Kamala Harris, has apparently abandoned all responsibility to secure the Southern border of the United States with the nation of Mexico and in doing so, has effectively relinquished control of this border to the criminal cartels operating thereat, causing illegal entry into the United States of unauthorized foreign nationals at rates as high as tens of thousands on a weekly basis and

Whereas, by this inaction, the Federal Government of the United States of America is providing aid and comfort to these cartels and contributing to their illicit profiting from criminal activities including murder, human, sex and narcotics trafficking, rape, sexual abuse, child abuse, destruction of US and privately owned property and contributing to the largely avoidable suffering and unnecessary deaths of foreign nationals, Texas and US citizens and

Whereas, by facilitating the transport of those entering illegally throughout the country, the Federal Government of the United States of America has placed the citizens of the state of Texas and the United States in danger of illness and death by exposure to infectious diseases born of those entering illegally – an estimated 15 – 40% of whom are infected with the COVID-19 virus – most without vetting, medical examination or testing and

Whereas, by such knowing abandonment of the responsibility to secure the Southern border of the United States of America with the nation of Mexico and knowing the risks thereof, the Federal Government of the United States of America is effectively engaged in committing an ongoing act of terrorism against the citizens of the state of Texas and the United States by placing them at risk of illness and death or risk and threat thereof for what can only be understood as political purposes, and

Whereas, the current policy of the state of Texas to arrest foreign nationals illegally entering into the United States through Texas territory for violations of Texas law as a deterrent to illegal entry, while laudable, is totally ineffective and therefore amounts to a mere symbolic gesture in stemming this invasion of Texas and US territory when taken in context of the scale of numbers of those entering illegally. Therefore, be it

Resolved We, the Executive Committee of the Collin County Republican Party, on behalf of our constituents, the citizens of the state of Texas and of these United States of America and for their safety, health and well being, demand Texas Governor Gregory Abbott to act with immediate effect to secure our Southern border with the nation of Mexico by any and all means necessary including the activation and deployment of the Texas National Guard, the Texas State Guard, Texas Department of Public Safety, local law enforcement including any and all local police, Sheriff’s offices, Constables and any and all sworn officers of the peace as may be available to perform such duties as this action requires. And where the law is found wanting for necessary action, we further demand Governor Abbott call an emergency or special session of the Texas Legislature, as necessary, to immediately address any such limitation and or impediment to this action.
