Political Action How to get involved in political action where you live

The first thing you can do to involve yourself in your local political process is find out who your Republican party Precinct Chair is in your precinct. The precinct is the smallest political subdivision determined by your state government. Every Texas house assembly district is comprised of a number of precincts. Every Texas Senate district is comprised of a larger number of precincts. The precinct is the most important political subdivision that any citizen is associated with because it is literally where you live, your neighborhood or immediate area. It determines where you vote, and who represents you. In the state of Texas, the leader of this political subdivision is known as the Precinct Chair.

Politics is defined as  the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations between individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status. Whether you know it or not, you are part of a political group, with an established leadership hierarchy, defined by law under Texas code. The Precinct Chair is the leadership position established by law to represent every precinct at the county level in the Executive Committee of every county in the state of Texas, whether Republican or Democrat.

Your job, as a political activist, in pursuit of maintaining your unalienable rights, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, is to organize and activate your neighbors to defend against any assault on these rights.

Plan Of Action:

  1. Find out who your Precinct Chair is.
  2. If your precinct has a chair, contact them to assist them in organizing the precinct to inform voters, get out the vote (GOTV) and register new voters.
  3. If your Precinct Chair position is vacant, apply to fill the position yourself. If you want something done right, do it yourself.
  4. If you determine that your existing Precinct Chair is not doing the job effectively, like any other elected official, challenge them in the primary election and get elected to the position by your fellow citizens. We need fighters to save our state and country.
