Tarrant County Republicans Support Legislation To Ban Vaccine Mandates
On Thursday, November 4th, at the Executive Committee meeting of the Tarrant County Republican party, the committee voted unanimously to recognize members of the Texas State Republican Party who signed a letter addressed to Governor Abbott calling for a special session to pass legislation to address the issue of vaccine mandates. The resolution was brought to the floor being co-sponsored by 36 precinct chairs, and passed resoundingly without opposition. The text of the resolution reads as follows:
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING TARRANT COUNTY SREC MEMBERS
Whereas Texans’ personal liberties and rights continue to be violated by employers across our great state, and
Whereas this has become a most desperate hour for individual Texans who are being told they must accept administration of a COVID-19 vaccine or lose their jobs, and
Whereas no employer, public or private, should be allowed to violate the legal rights of any individual employee or patron for any reason, and
Whereas the Tarrant County Republican Executive Committee aims to defend the personal rights and freedoms afforded every individual and protected by our United States Constitution, the Texas Constitution, and Common Law, and
Whereas the State Republican Executive Committee wrote an open letter to Governor Greg Abbott to ask him to address these issues through executive action and prioritizing legislation to remedy this dire situation,
Be it resolved by the Tarrant County Republican Executive Committee to recognize the following SREC members, representing residents of Tarrant County, for signing this letter to Governor Abbott and taking a stand against unconstitutional mandates: Anne Gebhart (SD 9), Steve Atwell (SD 9), Warren Norred (SD 10), Jill Glover (SD 12), David Wylie (SD 12), Devvie Duke (SD 22) and Jon Ker (SD22).
